The challenges in Africa and other low-income countries regarding the COVID-19 pandemic are more complicated than in middle-income or high-income countries. It is difficult to implement bailout packages or cash payments due to limited resources and distribution challenges. Experiments are being conducted to provide cash payments through mobile phone payments or community distribution mechanisms. High-income countries need to help low-income countries implement these policies.
